Strange buckle, Can anyone give me sme more info?

I found this buckle in a farm field. There was plenty of civil war action around the area and a map from 1900 indicates there were buildings there at one time. Ive found 3 ringers and a 1866 seated dime to pennies from the 90's, so i have no idea what time frame it could be from. Does any one know what it may have gone to or how old it may be? Thanks
