Kinda heavy, found it in an old trash pit kinda place, tons of old pottery pieces in the hole. Almost tossed in the brass recycle bucket thinking it was a piece of pipe. Then got to thinking why does it have holes in it.

Any ideas? Pretty sure it was flattened by a bulldozer.

Hard to tell what it might be when a bulldozer reshapes things.

Scabbard TIP - broken.

As a CW reenactor, I've seen this and done this many many times... You halt in a field, fix bayonets, stack arms, then sit down and jam your bayonet scabbard into the ground when you sit. They get bent and broken, then eventually pull off when you stand up.

Whoa! Thanks so much. I'm going to have to go back to that spot again and hopefully find the rest, right next to this I found an old brass earhorn (early hearing aid). :laughing7:
