Strange bluing on this button?

Dug this from an early site, just flat buttons, Rose head nails, glass.
Never dug a button as this one, broken, but enough to show the blue.
Is it an enamel or guiding?

If anyone has any insight on this one please let me know.
 

Was it found in an area of high salts content? I dug some bluish looking copper ones on the east cost of Maryland.

NE of Kingston Ontario, from an area that is forested now, sort of a ravine that gets pretty wet in the spring.
Soils are black loam, and every other button comes out pretty nice patina as one would expect from forest digging.
I was kind of thinking a blacksmithing operation as there was some shoes around of different sizes, and other iron that kind of tends to be from that source/trade.
Though I'm not certain as the there's not a whole lot of finds to say for certain.

Looks like a tombac with a strange patination.
