Well i have posted this before with no luck..
It was said it was a drop of solder or something like that.. :icon_scratch:

A jewelry dealer friend of mine came by and looked at it and tested it and it is solid silver..

It most definately has footprints of different walks of life including,

A horse shoe
Human print
wolf print and others

Any fresh ideas..
Most people that see it think its some kind of ancient coin :dontknow:

I have found pieces somewhat like that where old houses had burned, both silver and gold that had melted. Tony

What percent silver is it? It looks like a melted blob of solder to me. In the A/C business, I used to use 5, 10, 15, and 40 percent silver solder. I guess its like seeing images in the clouds. The 3 bottom flat side pics look exactly as if it cooled on dirt. The top side is the side in question but it appears raised like some kind of solder swirl. Can you post another higher resolution pic of the top swirl side?

I would imagine an ancient token or coin would be close to pure silver. A side view would also be very helpful. Ill bet the footprint side is flat.

Widow's Mites were cast bronze (that's why they were worth so little). More have been made since the Civil War than were ever in original circulation. They used to hand them out at gospel revivals - most nothing like the original coins.

Coins are usually struck from a master that raises the image/relief. Not something dug into the coin.

My guess is a dollop of solder or melted silverware.

Thanks for the better pics but to be absolutely honest with you, Blaze, I do not see the tiny images that you are imagining. I only see air pockets or impressions made by dirt. It is flat on the bottom just as I suspected, and domed on top exactly like a blob of solder or melted silver would look like.. Of course any fresh ideas are welcome. http://dougsmith.ancients.info/feac47wid.html

It was widely believed that a horse that stepped in a wolf print would be crippled , the symbols on medals were used to ward off the injury if this happened , The Wolf print and a Horseshoe .
I do not know if this is what you have but I have seen medals like this where I worked out West . I was shown one like yours but it was larger . And the one I was shown was over 200 years old as I was told .
You might check into this as it may be an older version of what I was shown and learned about .

I know you want it to be something else, but it's flat on the bottom with random gravel/dirt/air pocket marks and domed and smooth on top. No doubt in my mind it is a drip of metal formed by random chance. It's like the frito that looks like Elvis or the cloud that looks like Jesus. Just coincidence; I don't see wolf or human prints without reaching pretty hard.

random gravel/dirt/air pocket marks

Plus a section of clipped solid copper wire laying on the workbench to make the "horseshoe" impression.
