Strange 1/2 dollar

The coin is perfect in size and the thickness is the same as a real 1/2 it says Elizabeth - !!.DEI. GRATIA.REGINA.F.D +
Anyone have any ideas?

You probably have the old magic trick, two coins in one. The penny is milled to fit in the Half shell. Its the trick where you put two coins in someones hand and then have them close their hand and when they open, its only a half dollar. Probably someone jammed the coin in upside down. If you can take them apart the other side of the half should be on the penny. I may loose my membership in the magicians union for this!
The ring is for taking the coin apart. Its a really neat trick.

I think you are right after looking at it under a magnifying glass but I don't know how I would ever get them a part

Thank you but since I don't have the Ring I will just have to live with a 2 faced coin.
