I stumbled onto a site last week that had an older house on it. My friend told me that it was a fraternity house and I understood that it was being turned into a parking lot expansion for the college. I have old maps and it is kind of a shame that so many old areas are now under asphalt and concrete.
Day one there was a pile of wood where the house once stood but it was too muddy to hunt. By the weekend the wood was moved out and most of the foundation was pulled up and discarded. My guess is that within a week they will probably start spreading gravel. I was able to work in a small area of the front yard and pull most of the coins shown here.
The toys were mainly found around the dozed part. I am hoping that they will clear more of the rubble and I can get access to the flatter areas of the yard. I also found a 1950s cap gun that was in about a dozen pieces from where the bucket struck it.
My 6" coil on my CTX was indispensable for working around the junk and the deep furrows made by the bucket.
