This past Summer I found this with My Garrett 350 Ace, it was about 8 in. down and rings up as Iron and Nickel , Not Magnetic at all but has a Crust and is rusty looking also up close You can see tiny bits of shiny fragments all threw it. I have done some reading about meteorites and need to know where I can send it to get it verified ? Thanks for the Help... what do You think??? IMAG0076-1.jpgIMAG0077-2.jpg

Find someone with a rock saw and cut one end.

Then you can compare it with other known meteorite.
i looks like a chondrite

I did file a small area on the side , It's all red or Rust color with the metal flakes all threw it .

I just found a strong magnet and did the String Test , Tied the magnet to a string and hung it from a post. It does Draw the magnet towards the Suspected stony Meteorite...So it is magnetic a bit . As for the Streak Test ,I read that only works for all Iron Meteorites ? I guess I should get busy and find a place near New York where I live to have it checked out and authenticated ... Thanks for the input and I welcome More if anyone has any thoughts...Thanks for looking and H.H. GMan
