Hey Justin,

That is a nice piece. Very ergonomic with that offset straight handle. I'd vote it a batter jug, in Albany slip, latter part of the 19th Century…

I'm gonna hedge my vote a little. The form that I have seen a few of these offset straight handles, is the bean pot. Not often with the pouring spout. Could go both ways, I imagine. What size is yours?

That certainly looks similar surf. I measured the base and how tall it is and it's 7 in wide by 7 in tall.
 

are you sure the bottom is not still in the ground?
