✅ SOLVED Stone or cannonball (or both)?

Found this in my yard many years ago and always thought it resembled a cannonball. Is stone/rock and very heavy. I know stone cannonballs were used but do not know much beyond that. Stone or cannonball (or both)? Thanks!

see them all the time just a rock probably from a river and dumped there by the glaciers

Cannon balls are perfectly round, as not to stick in the barrel.

Before you get to "glum" it not being a cannon ball...
I would like to say now that no one else has chimed in...
This could be some sort of "pestle" ball...
Worth far more...
And far rarer...
Than any old common cannon ball.

Check into it.

OR... it could just be a "garden ball"... look into that as well.
