I found this a few years back in a river near the blue ridge mountains in NC, it looks like a stone axe head to me any other ideas?

Hard call. Could be very weathered, but I'm leaning toward natural?

Looks very natural to me, the shape is off and no signs of being pecked or worked.

Sorry but that is a natural stone. Weathered to look that way.

Could be natural but there remains enough doubt to have it posted on an artifacts site as suggested by Antiquarian. It looks like it could have a lot of river abrasion but to know for sure if it is a stone artifact would be to see if anything of the same shape has been previously found.

No need to post it on our indian artifact forum, it is natural river rock
