Found this token, octagon shape , copper. Same diameter as a quarter, and has letters HAAS on one side , blank on the reverse. Found in central NJ. Any info would be appreciated.
Hard to tell what that token represents. Those planchets were sold blank for all sorts of things, and stamped by whoever wanted to use them. Unless HASS can be tied to some sort of local significance. it will be hard to definitively ID it.
Not a button, but a trade token. Unfortunately, with a relatively common name like Haas on it, finding just where the issuing business was located will be a challenge. It is likely from a bar/saloon ca. 1890-1905 and was good for a drink, although it possibly could have been used for some other purpose. I'd suggest posting it on TokenCatalog.com under "unknown" - it may take a long time to get it identified, or it may never be.
