✅ SOLVED Stocking or garter parts?

Any idea what these are? And an age range? Made of copper and much too small and thin to be a part of suspenders; my guess was from a garter. Found three or four feet apart at my parents' house. The land was formerly a farm and part of a granite quarry. I didn't find anything diagnostic. The top has "Queen Louise" stamped into it, and may have possibly been plated. A quick search has a Queen Loiuse fabric company in the nineteen teens.

The strap opening is just under 5/8" and the overall thickness is almost the thickness of an Xacto blade. Any idea on age? That one does look very similar.

It could be from a garter I guess... but just reminds me of a suspender is all.

Age ? heh... maybe someone else can pinpoint that info here.

Your guess is correct... stocking/garter clasp. The ad below shows the version you found. It was patented in 1895. Yours were apparently manufactured after the US Patent had expired, so there was no longer any need to mark them with the patent date. After the patent's protection-period for the inventor expires, the item can be manufactured by anybody... so there are many slight variations in the clasp's form.
