Not all is well in sheepleland. Just saw that this year's first quarter GDP was revised to -1%. That's right, we cannot even have a positive GDP here recently, yet the stock markets reach new records.
I read that some of the companies whose stock is rising lately are laying off loads of workers and using the saved money to buy back their own stock, which makes the sheeple want to buy more of their stock.
Can anyone tell me how as a country (and our economy) we are in any way improving in light of such things? If less people are employed it means there will be less spending (stimulating) of the economy, and it doesn't matter one bit how profitable any given company is.
It does amaze me how the current stock market climate is different than when I watched stocks years back. Today the focus is always THE FED. What will they do? What will they not do? Where will they set interest rates?, etc. Never do they talk about US debt, unfunded gov liabilities, record numbers of folks on welfare and gov disability.
Yet, while all of this is going on the two forms of real money for thousands of years is looked upon by the sheeple (and some former PM bugs) as worthless. Talk about a world turned upside down.
All my opinion.
