I found this stirrup at an old plantation estate. I have found many stirrups in my tine but never one like this one. Civilian? Military? Age? Thanks. 20191103_200341.jpg
 

With the wide top I don't feel that it is a stirrup. I did see a device like that on a bellows in a old blacksmith shop.

I don't think this is a horse stirrup, I think it was made for some other purpose... but what?

Some antique Portuguese and Spanish stirrups were shaped like that.
