Someone in the area Surely knows where "OLD SUSS" Lived

the 2nd. Mummey Homestead was Destroyed by Fire in
Early December 1976.

I'm Guessing her killer came back and did it.
He was released March 1976

Hi there!

Like you mentioned, the original Mummey house burned down in November 1976. The house had been purchased two years earlier by John Hysock. A new house was later built on the other side of Trout Run Road and it's owned by Hysock's daughter.

I actually just published a book about Susan Mummey's life and murder (even the part about her hooch operation being raided). It's titled In the Day of Trouble:

Cheers,
Taj

Yep, that's it!

It's written like fiction (fictitious dialogue - for the most part, some dialogue is pulled directly from old articles), but all the events are true. In that sense, it's like Capote's "In Cold Blood."

At the end of each chapter, I include images of news articles, court records, census records, etc that I pulled from.

In my research I talked with Albert Shinsky's last lawyer, the granddaughter of the district attorney, and the woman who currently owns the property (Hysock's daughter).
