Still on a roll -- Got a Gold turtle ring tonight ---- Updated

Howdy all,
I decided to take a lazy day today and do as little as possible. I slept in and watched a movie this mornin before deciding to go out for a hunt. I decided to hit the field that gave up the silver ring yesterday, but it was a bust. I got plenty of clad and trash but no keepers. Still a good hunt but nothin to write home about. So I decided to come home and take a nap. After I was sure my new field would be fairly empty I headed out. So far this field has kicked out 2 monster gold rings, and a .925 necklace and charm. Like I said before I don't think this field has ever been hunted before, or at least not seriously. I started out where I left off the other night, and started gettin the clad right off. I also started gettin what looked like .32 caliber blanks. I figure these must be from a starting pistol. About 30 minutes in I get a real rattly tone at only an inch. I figure its another blank, and the pro pointer finds it right off. When I pulled it outta the dirt I thought it was another mangled part of a pull tab. Turned out to my delight that it was a 14k ring with a little turtle on it. There are 7 clear stones in the shell, and 2 red stones in the eyes. So I now have yet another ring with stones to have checked. I know I know. I will try and do it tommorrow, but I just got the hunting bug while the weather is nice, and the gold is flowin. I hope tommorrow is just as good as the last few hunts have been. I also included pics of before and after I re rounded it. Thanks for lookin, and luck in the hunt.

Got the stones tested and they came out Cz. But the gold is good, so no complaints.

I'm gonna be down a few days here just to damn hot 113 today ,still a 100 at 10pm,gonna ride out this couple of hot days an let things replenish .

Ju Ju, perhaps.......this is only a suggestion ( :icon_scratch:

).......perhaps you should BUY A TENT AND STAY OUT ON THAT
FIELD. (Sleep when you have to, eat when you must.....the rest of the time....KEEP THAT MACHINE ON.)

I think he melted down his big gold one and is making a bunch of smaller ones :laughing9:

Nice JuJu. I need to start hitting up some local parks. I generally never hunt them because of the newer coins found, but I'm sure they would be great for rings ::)

I prefer the schools fields for jewelry. The parks are good too, but have 100 times more trash. I like to work the edges of the fields where the spectators stand, and the players set there gear down. The finds get slimmer more toward the center of the fields. This makes 3 gold rings, and one silver necklace, and charm from this field. I still have most of the field to cover. When I have covered the whole field I will turn around and start over. I know there is more there waitin for me.

I dig anything above iron. As long as it doesn't have an iron bounce at the end of the tone. Some times you get a good 30 or 35 vdi, but it has an iron bounce at the end. This is usually canslaw. If its repeatable I dig it. I will say I get an enormous amount of trash. But it pays off in the end. I got gold again today, and took a pic of the contents of the whole pouch. You will be able to see the variety of crap I find. I also rely heavily on my pro-pointer so it only takes me a few seconds to recover a target. So I rely on large quantities of targets to pay out the gold. Instead of cherry picking tones. I will say that most gold hits well below pulltab. Hope this helps.

I agree with Hike on this one! I can envision you sitting there with a frosty cold one and the jewelry just forms a single line and cha's cha's it's way to your machine! No work involved.......hey....it could happen!! :P ::)
