Congrats on your finds! Did you make your dog dig them up, he looks tired?

Don't give up. You will find a honey hole if you keep looking.

Thanks Steve for your words of encouragement, I'm far from that, I'll find that honey hole, to me it's just a matter of numbers.

Haaaaaaaaaaaa, he is tired from doing nothing all day, besides, he is 91 in dog years! He is always by my side, his love is the best kind of love anyone could ever have.

treblehuter what part of jersey you from.i might have a park that has been giving up large cents lately. ;-) not much yesterday but two large in one day tells me could be more. if you want to swing let me know.

Here's a tip that may get you on more private property. Do you know any Realtors? I happen to be a Realtor and it's made it possible to get on some nice private properties. Some of them were my listings so it was just a matter of asking the owner who I represented if I could metal detect. BUT, some of the properties I got on last year were the result of knowing another Realtor who had a listing that I wanted to metal detect and asking them to ask the owner. One of them resulted in the nicest 1820 over 19 large cent as well as silver and other items. Another resulted in about 10 pieces of silver including a Barber quarter a silver religious medal with chain, a gold and silver earing, a couple of Indians and an old copper. One of my listings resulted in finding a nice 4 silver coin pocket dump and a decent 1929 SLQ. If someone is selling their house their never going to go digging anyway. Very important to be meticulous with your digging so nobody knows you ever dug a hole.

I tried this a couple of times with calling the number on the for sale sign. Left messages three times, three different agents/listings, never got a call back. Got one call back and got the "because of insurance, I could not let you" line. I called a "sale by owner" poor guy tells me he was getting sued by a guy he hired to do some work on his house (must not of been insured/handyman) and he could not let me hunt. I told them all I would sign releases but they had no time. It's a shame, people now a days are so sue happy, you can't blame these people trying to protect themselves. It works for you because your a Realtor, nothing comes easy. Thanks for the idea, I think I'll work that angle a little more, by talking to some Realtor's I know.
