I don't want to add junk to the great finds people find on here but with this picture I have a couple question, I spend a lot of time in my back yard learning my teknetics gamma 6000 because I'm completely new to this hobby and I LOVE IT! Plus there is more junk buried in this yard then you can ever imagine. (Built in 1955 and has always been a rental property) I found two small pieces of concrete that for some reason hit on my detector as nickel so I kept them (right of the wrench) question 1) does concrete do this? I'm going to break them up to see if anything is in it but I doubt there is. And question 2) all those nails hit on my gamma as quarters. Is there something I'm doing wrong or a tone I should listen for that will allow me to pass these up? The sound I swear was the same high pitched sound I heard when I did find the quarter (just left of the big spike) The GOOD news is this is the first time I've actually found money all clad except one Penny is a wheat back (it was also 7 inches down which I thought was cool) so I'm pretty happy. The feeling I got when I actually dug up the first penny was amazing! Even though the first one was a 1987 (only 2 inches down) it was like "Yesssssss! I actually found a coin!!!" Also when I started to dig up the electrical housing box (top left) I got so darned excited thinking "OMG! It's a stash of coins or something!" Lol but no, just an electrical box haha. Anyway, any pointers on how to tell nails from quarters? Again I'm new so I may just not understand what I'm hearing anyway. Thanks in advance for any pointers. HH! ALSO: today I had notched out iron and foil thinking I wouldn't get any more nails but I did hitting on the readout as quarters.
