Still going....today's silver makes it 7 hunts in a row!!
Back to the same ball field today to hopefully keep my string of silver days going. Met up with Jeff of PA today and was happy to see him find his first silver with his new EX SE pro!!
The first coin I found today took the pressure off, I knew it was silver and I knew it was either barber or seated but that was all I was sure of. This dime came out of the ground with a black substance on it that for lack of a better term looked and felt like tar. After Jeff looked at it we ascertained that it was in fact a Barber dime and Jeff could make out the "4" but the details were still hidden.
Now, before all you purists faint....yes, I cleaned it. I had to in order to get any details on it, and I don't plan on selling any coins anyway. They all get slabbed and put in my keeper book and I like to see the shine!! Turned out this was actually a very nice Barber once I ran it through the electrolysis for about 5 minutes and hit it with Maas.
Here he is:
Tomorrow is a club hunt in a field with unknown history.....one silver is all I want to keep the streak alive..we'll see!!
Thanks for lookin'
