I got out early this morning and stopped first at the 1800's foundation. Tons of junk. But then found another foundation Not sure of the age on this one but think it might have been a barn to the main house

Right on the ridge of the dirt got a sweet signal and out pops this us millitary sharpshooter medal. Too bad the bars underneath were not there. But it is marked sterling!!!

I also stopped by the 1900 house on the way home. And found the 1904 Indian head and the cash coin in the same hole. From what I can see. The cash coin is a chien lung coin. And maybe 1920 for the date. Also found the turquoise speckled button. Nice little day and the streak stays alive. 6 hunts in a row with silver!!!

The sharpshooter medal is awesome! It's sterling silver so I think it predates the 1960's. Might be Korean War or WWII vintage. These type of marksman award badges had been cheep pot metal since the 1970's. So the one you found is a real keeper! Nice!

This pic will explain the difference between the three badges that can be awarded while qualifying with M16 , pistol, grenade, etc. All US Army. Expert being best, Marksmen being worst.

I did see in my research that they went to this design medal in the 1920's. I didn't know they weren't all silver though. Thanks for the help
