One of the things I learned about hunting artifacts is that Steve's truck is an artifact magnet (his John Deer's too). It seems very often there's something good wherever he stops - he'll usually spot something within a few feet. Last evening Steve's truck wasn't there but there where new tire tracks from it of into the field. I decided to walk them and, like I said, it's a Magnet. The pumice piece above was in between the tracks, then a point just where the track stopped and a little further back another along side track. Thanks Steve.:laughing7:

The other stuff I had to find on my own.

And no hunting today - it's raining - hard - for hours.

Yeehaw! It looks like next week might be better than "pretty good".

Some very nice finds. The grooved piece is interesting.
Great looking finds. What do you think the grooved piece is?

Thanks,

a lot of the time pumice was used to polish, sand or clean things and also kind of like an abrator. We use the material today for the same things. Other than it's weird shape, I think it just used to polish or sharpen something. I don't know what the black on it is. It's quite hard and impregnated in.

Very interesting those are some nice goodies great colors and material. Real nice pottery rim shards. That coin in your hand sure look's like a "REAL OLD" ancient trade token to me. Hard rain sounds good that spells more artifact's.

Good Job! :icon_thumleft: Boy! you guys could capatialize on them small scrapers.

yup old digger...it don't take long to find a scraper made of KFR, TRSS, agate, jasper, or pet wood
