Met up with Cjon for some much needed detecting. We decided to do some door knocking that I have never done before. We didn't make many stops, because of me being uncomfortable, and the rain. We were able to sneak in a hunt just before the rain started and detected two small fields with no luck before we decided to head over into yard. After swinging the yard for a bit. Cjon finally pulls a wheat and I was still empty handed. A huge old stump just off the house had my attention. So I headed over by it and right away a 1915 D wheatie. Swung my coil again and another wheat. So I got thinking that maybe there was a clothes line there at one time. I did a 180 and headed straight towards the house and boom. A solid signal. At 4 to 6 inches a Webster Co. Sterling Thimble. Guess I'm going to have to get used to this door knocking thing, cause I definitely owe Cjon. Thanks buddy!

Great looking thimble it made the stop well worth it.

Man that is a beautiful looking thimble and one in great shape mine is all smushed but it still complete

Welcome to the silver thimble club if it's your first

I went through a similar uncomfortable feeling after my first time being refused permission at a property I had gotten my hopes up about. Caught me off guard haha but the worst that can happen is a "no". Glad I wasn't the only one out in the crappy weather in nepa. Great finds, the thimble is pristine.

Glad we got out to hunt. Somebody had to find it. Glad to see it was one of us.

Thanks! I was surprised to see this one wasn't even slightly flattened. It is my second silver one. The first one was smushed, but I was able to open it back up. Here is a pick of both my thimbles

Thanks Oney! It was definitely out of my element. But I think next time I will be more comfortable. Where are you at in NEPA?

Excellent thimble! I've only found two in my life and both were trashed.

I thought CJ had given up this hobby and gave away all his equipment! :dontknow:

Thanks! He is still lurking around out there. But he is mostly :BangHead:

Nice thimble.
I have yet to get a sterling one.
It is a beauty.

That's an awesome find there Will! That's one that's high up on my to find list. Door knocking can be awkward but gets easier the more you do it. I haven't been shot yet and I've knocked on a few. Congrats on that silver thimble!

That is one sweet thimble! Congrats!
