Found this marked .925 sterling silver ring with what appears to be an emerald stone. I have tried putting the ring in a foil container with boiling water and baking soda, but the ring is still dark in most areas. Any suggestions?
I use a baking soda paste to clean my silver rings . Just add a very small amount of water to the powder and use your fingers to work the paste on the ring . It should come out looking great ! Congrats

Every treasure hunter should have an ultrasonic cleaner! One of the best is here at SRA. Bigger more powerful units are available, but so far this one has satisfied my needs (watch for sales).
Put in a little water, perhaps some liquid hand soap or vinegar as the case may be, turn up the heat, hit the ultrasonic power button, and wallah—clean jewelry! Or coins, whatever.
