Got this the other day. The silver test solution turned red, so it looks to be silver. With the little dimples, my first thought was a thimble, but it's pretty thin, and I think it might be too big for one. Is there a thumb thimble? If is it a lid, why would someone make it out of silver? It's not holed, so salt shaker, etc is out. Weight is 2.2 grams. Thanks for any help you can provide!

A long-shot guess maybe part of a matchbox case ? And that looks like a super hunt still seeking my first "Benny" out here :occasion14:

I think thimble. If you work it open it may have a maker mark inside under the top. Could be a needle case thimble-lid combo apparatus thingy, but I ain't finding any to prove that idea. Pretty nice finds you've got there.

The base of it throws me off in thinking a thimble, and more towards a lid/cap off something and the dimples are for grip enhancement.
