I found this yesterday at an old favorite county park. I have not even been getting wheaties, let alone silver! Then I got a very deep weak signal on my XS and it locked in the far upper right hand side of my screen, it SCREAMED SILVER! 
. I thought maybe a dime, but no. At about 10 inches deep I started pulling this thing up, I at first thought it was a broken bracelet, but it was still all there. I have since been told that in that particular area, that the Italian people used to hold big family reunion picnics there in that area. My understanding is that it was made to hold the hair bun, bunched up. It is marked sterling and it was not all blackened, just slightly tarnishedI put it in my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner for about 20 minutes.
