Went to a large Church Rummage sale this morning, there were at least 300 people in line at 9am.I had been to this sale last year so I knew the layout and I always check the flatware bins for Sterling. There was a large Ziploc of Japanese flatware marked $3 in a bin I picked it up and and could tell right away there was sterling mixed in with the others. Here is the breakdown of what was inside:

4 Gorham Sterling Fairfax spoons 27g each
1 larger Gorham Sterling Fairfax Sterling spoon 35g
1 Gorham Sterling Fairfax fork 39g
Total 182g=$118 at todays spot(I'm hoping they will sell for more than melt)

10 Stainless steel bladed Gorham Sterling handle Fairfax knives 72g each, amount of sterling in each piece unknown. I did some basic research and found these listings, looks
like they sell for between $45-$50ea..

and

I have found single pieces of sterling flatware before at church sales but nothing like this as it is my best buy of the season....Thanks for looking, comments welcome...(last pic is probably plated junk, not marked looks plated)

Hope you gave the church a $5 and let them keep the change. Nice score!

I love finding Gorham stuff. Its usually so chunky and heavy 8-)

Really nice marked sterling, Gorham is legit...
Don't under estimate those hollow sterling knives. (Last Pics) Those are likely hollow sterling...
I had a post of 6 or 7 I sold 4 of them for sterling scrap. ($6.00 ea.)

Keep @ it and HH !!
