So I bought this sterling bracelet(I hope it's a bracelet) for 2 bucks at a rummage sale and it wasn't until I took a closer look at the design later that I realized it depicts a umm well you know. I suppose you could argue it's a gourd but only if your grandmother inquired about it. Anyway I'm just not sure how to find out what this is, the google searches have been awkward. I can't make out the makers mark, it just looks like indistinguishible splotches to me. I'm not sure what the rules are here about this so I've only posted pics that don't include any gourds. Any help would be appreciated.

On an unrelated note, I got my first gold today(well yesterday really) about 1.92 grams of 14kt and .65 grams of 10kt.

Ok, so a friend of mine did some wizard level googling and apparently it's a Navajo storyteller bracelet, still not sure on the makers mark but she seems to think it's a stylized depiction of a three spout vase sitting on a woman's head. More research to be done. Oh and we're pretty sure it's a gourd not a phallus thank goodness for that.DSCN2381.JPG

Found the mark, but it's in the unidentified section, #26. http://www.art-amerindien.com/signature_picto-hallmarks.htm

Nice find that carries a good premium. Congrats. Good going on the research too.

PS- Usually, each storyteller bracelet is unique unto itself.

:laughing7:Nice bracelet! Do you usually use your crotch as a backdrop?

I am still laughing because the build-up of phallic symbols and then the gourd pic, I do think the gourd is a pickle though.

Geez, sounds and looks like the OP has some freudian issues!!

I wish I could say that I planned these posts out to be humorous but I did not. :-[

I think I see some sheep shearing and some weaving going on on two of the panels..but can not make out the others. I suspect one of them they are making yarn..
Could you post some more shots with slightly different angles or lighting?
lol still laughing here.. lol but sincere about my request

Navajo/dine' are a matriarchy, so it is not uncommon for those ladies to get a bit raunchy...
once you get to know one of those girls...they laugh a lot.

here is a site that can tell you who made the object...
Jewelry Hallmarks

first panel...traveling, second panel, setting up the loom, third panel..loom warped an woven...can not make out the other panels..sorry

Navajo use children an old men to herd sheep, not horse...

forgot: SWEET FIND...lucky person...

DSCN2501.JPGDSCN2504.JPG I hope these pictures help, I made sure not to use my crotch as the backdrop this time. I appreciate the input and assistance, I still can't find the hallmark anywhere, secretcanyon the symbolic mark isn't on that list so I still don't know.
