Ok I have heard astronomical prices and low prices and I am trying to get to the bottom of this. I have a really nice 1943 silver steel penny. I will post the pics tonight. But what are these things worth?

I would keep it but if its worth a mint then its going to auction to pay off debt. Its been sitting in a jar since 1943 as well so its pretty clean.

The coin is common. About 200 million minted for the 43S, about 220M for the 43D and nearly 900M for the 43 Plain. I doubt the plain or "D" would merit double figures; maybe the S in better than MS-64 condition.

Check the mintmark. There are some 43 Ds with a double mintmark; then you talking bigger bucks; but still under $100 in the best of condition--just guessing.
Don.....

Thanks Don

I have been googling the heck out of it and am seeing exactly what you are saying.

thanks for you input and time

the Only 43 Lincoln worth a mint is a copper (bronze Actually) 1943.
