hello fellow scrappers!

I have realized that here in the suburbs of Chicago scrapping is a competitive sport! I was racing around the blocks with 4 other trucks this week. I would see them coming behind me and then I go up 2 blocks because I drive slower looking for smaller items too, stuffed boxes from places that had garage sales. I even stop if I see a mop handle stickin' outta da garbage can. The worse is when I turn the corner and see the guy comin' up the street. I know most of the blocks ahead won't have anything. My wife just laughs at me, she's a great co-pilot.

anyway the haul included the following items:
a heating unit (stripped), an exercise machine, hot water heater (stripped), 2 sections of chain linked fence, 5 sections of wrought iron railing, a green electrical box, a base for a man hole (real heavy), a bunch of hose fittings, a wrought iron fish tank stand, a whole bunch of tent poles, a bunch of mop handles, iron re bar, 5 light fixtures, wire shelving, a lawn tractor seat, a kiddie playpen, an ESPN multi-sport thingy (stripped), scrap iron from metal detecting, a folding chair, base to a tray table, base to a banquet table, the base of a portable toilet (yep, the plastic bucket was in it when I found it and it was nasty ... left it in the dudes yard/pile, the kids were laughing at me), some cooking pans, a hamster wheel, a table stand, and 2 fan stands.

965 pounds at .06 per lb = 57.90
