Hello Everyone;
After a long winter and 3 immediate family deaths I finally got out for a nice, long hunt Sat. with Terry Everly of TNET to some new , virgin spots just out my back door. I usually hunt In Woodstock, Ohio where my late Grandmother lives but decided to try some potential spots near home. After a nagging snow storm on Thursday night I was ready to go.

2 Days earlier >:(

I knew of a spot just 2 miles away that an old home stood there by the old barn and the mature maple tree's which surrounded the area. My son's, friends Grandfather occupied the land and I knew him from previous years. After a quick phone call by his son it was an easy go. He is a nice, laid back man who just loves life!! He also was a retired teacher of Marysville and has many friends. ::) Maybe I can get some more sites to hunt. While hunting, he also told me of a lady who lost her diamond ring over by hes house so I can try to find that on future hunts ::) ;D

Within the first few minutes of digging we both struck some keepers. Terry will post his finds later on today. Mine was an old token. Need help ID'ing it, please. Not to drag out this post I ended up with 4 Wheat's, an old token, Broach, Buffalo, and a old copper ring. Also found a cosmetic ring stamped Hong Kong on the inside.

After lunch on me for Terry driving me around (my car is too small) we headed into town where I knew of a huge lot for sale that was the site of 2 brick homes that have been gone for years. To our surprise not much around the perimeter of the outlying yards. He scored, but not me until I moved on over to the last yard where an empty home stood that was part of the sale. (by the way. I called the realtor and given permission to hunt)

Not long after we moved to the yard I got a good signal. At first I thought it was clad by the depth on my Ace but in the 4 inch plug I cut was hiding a nice copper coin. :headbang: First copper for me since 2009. Next signal, a shallow merc.... a 1919 in great shape. By this time the sun was setting and we knew our hunt was over. Rain today so we can't go back until another time. Also dug an old train wheel, I think ??? Also some modern clad. All in all we had a nice 8 hours hunting and we have all year, now.

Thanks for looking and have an enjoyable year of hunting. Ron
PS. The first site was early 1900's and the second site I'm guessing 1800's. Below is waht I found:

A token from Marysville, Ohio. Good for 5 cents in Trade. Need help IDing this.
1848 Copper
1919 Merc
1916 Buffalo
1914 Wheat..... no D >:(
1925 Wheat
1926 Wheat
1944 Wheat
Copper ring. Age??

Modern clad
