looks almost like someone might have put it in an electrolysis tank. im just guessing, but it looks like something that happened after it left the mint to me.

no, pretty neat. I've boiled mine in all sorts of goo to get them clean and they never turned that color.

Does the back have any different colors ? I saw one that color and it had a tree on the back .The leaves on the tree were green.

I've seen coins turned all kinds of different colors. I dug a couple quarters on the beach that had a strange goldish color. I thought they were foreign coins at first glance. I guess it all depends on what the coins are exposed to.

Hope it's an error....Could it be possible that it's part of a "gold-plated" set that made it into circulation. Just a guess.

I boiled a few dozen quarters in water to get the loose dirt off... there was a Chuckie Cheese token in the bunch and all the quarters were good as gold when they came out. You may have found one of my mistakes.

Nice if it's an error! :o

Wonder what it's worth... Might be a good idea to have it graded.
