Found this at my grandmother's house in NJ during a recent trip. The front is the NJ state seal and reads, "The Great Seal of the State of New Jersey." The back states, "Warranted 14kt Gold Plated on Genuine Bronze."

There is no sign of the gold plating any longer. It measures 1 7/16" at its widest point and is about 1 3/4" tall.

In the same area were a bunch of wheat cents, all from the 40s, so it's possible this is from around then too.

Any idea on actual age, or purpose?

Thanks!

From the top, it looks like a watch fob.
Nice find!
