I have this lovely necklace I would like to list, but I have no idea where it is from. I believe it's Swedish or Danish or somewhere over there, since it looks like that style. I don't recognize the hallmarks and it's driving me nuts.

(Yea, I have no idea how to rotate them. Sorry.)

Are the beads on it made of stone? It's hard to tell from pic but if they are, it looks like carnelian.

They are really a pale pink. I am not 100% sure if they are stone or not. I may run it by the jeweler soon. (I have several other pieces that need to go anyway.)

Thanks they looked more orange in the pic so they're definitely not carnelian. Is the mark next to the star/pentagram a capital letter A and is there anything next to it?

There is something next to it. I think it's either an A or possibly a B? I tried to get a shot at a different angle.

I believe your necklace is from Spain. First Spain uses the pentagram as a quality silver mark indicating a minimum of .915 purity (a few other countries may have as well but not near as much as Spain) and what appears to be a somewhat imperfect, hexagonal stamp as it has six sides (which definitely indicates Spain) with the letter B is the actual maker's mark. It's hard to tell but there may be 2 small marks above the B and if so, it would still be the actual maker's mark. If it had been imported, then the importer's mark would have been in a stamped triangle instead.

My guess is that if the beads are light pink in color then they are probably rose quartz.

Yay! You are correct! I just found the star on 925-1000 (under Spain). I can't tell you how many times I looked there, but I think I didn't see it.

If you had to guess, when would you think that this is from?

Since it is from Spain and their styles are very different and because I can't see it in person, it makes it very difficult to guess with more accuracy. You can tell from the clasp style that it isn't real old but it is a very well crafted and lovely necklace. My best guess is that it is either vintage or retro, meaning anywhere from the mid 60's to mid 80's.

I was gonna guess the 60s. It seems like that style, or '70s. It's a very interesting piece. I don't personally like silver, but I was wearing it for a little while last night. LOL. (I'm a gold girl personally.) Thanks again for all your help. Is there any other site besides 925-1000 for more modern silver hallmarks? I keep finding odd marks on jewelry, and sometimes I buy it and spend hours and hours attempting to find out who the designer is.

I am a gold girl too as I don't like having to deal with tarnishing from silver Lol! I have no idea about any websites sorry. I used to be an antique and antique jewelry dealer in primarily the Art Deco period and somewhat to a lesser extent back to the Victorian, and still am a collector. With a few exceptions and mostly with fine watches, most of the designers are unknown for jewelry that old unless it would be Tiffanys, Bailey, Banks and Biddle or some other well known jeweler. However often the country marks and identifications such as their different ways of grading for gold and silver are there. Newer jewelry is more often stamped with many more, maker's marks. That's why I couldn't tell you who the maker was and only that it was from Spain and wasn't imported.
