Found this star button or cufflink at an early 1800's house, it ahs 13 stars on it....any ideas on exactly what it is and the age/use of it? military?? Thanks for the help....

This 13-stars button is classified by the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps as, "Button, Tack, M-1941" and since 1941 has been used on various military clothing and fabric equipment closures.

PBK....thanks for the I.D., well not as thrilling as it being a civil war button, it being a WWII button makes more sense for not far from where I found it were some WWII barracks. I appreciate it and thanks to all for all the help!
