This place has changed a bit! I was looking for the "What is it?" forum. Hope it's OK that I post this here.

This was found in Southeast Missouri a few weeks ago and it's been cleaned up. I've never seen anything like this. It's about 5/8" across, has ball points on the star tips, and a bas relief image of a palm-up hand in the center. It is a one-piece buttonhole badge that has the backing still attached to the emblem by a round stem.

Is this a sherrif badge? Deputy? Judge? Cowboy? Anyone??

Thanks!

-Nancy

Nice find Nancy! Whatever it is!:dontknow: We, me & the missus, also MD in SEMO! We used to live in the "greater" Patterson area of Wayne co. Are you familier with this locale?:occasion14:

Not really familiar. My husband is from the Walnut Park area of St. Louis. He also lived in Jackson and Gideon.

Hi Nancy, how big is the piece? Looks like a cufflink to me.
