Had a long day of hunting. Manage to find some old lots with a good buddy of mine Xavier and my son.
Found 2 wheats 1952 and 56
Then out pops a standing Liberty quarter! No date but can barley make out a 2 or 7 for the last digit. 2nd silver quarter, my first wad a 1946

Also found a USMC button from WWII.
Being a former Marine I was happy to find it

Thanks for looking!

That was cool you found the button too, nice.

I always like finding SLQ's, even if they don't have a date. FYI, if there are no stars below the eagle on the reverse it's either 1916 or 1917.

And two other points to help you get a date:
Recessed dates for the SLQ began in 1927, so your coin is likely not a 1927. Also, (according to my Red Book) no SLQs were minted in 1922...therefore, if you can make out only a 2 OR a 7 as the last digit, it's likely a 1917 coin. Congrats!

Nice finds. The Standing Libs are always fun to pull out of the dirt.

Thats Awesome James!...Those are a tough one to find, I bet your heart skipped a beat..Hopefully Xavier can find a nice silver there too. That button looks great too!..ive found tons of Military buttons and never saw that one before.
