Stamped Dog-Bone Thingy...

I have no idea, but here is the info...

Has some white paint splatters on one end, both top and bottom.

Not corroded at all, just tarnished, and nice metal. Not soft, and not tough spring steel, just right. Maybe brass?

Made by being punched / stamped as you can see from the pics.

What is this thing I found in a small yard?

I found one of those today at a church! One end was cut off the one I found. Have no idea what it is but it looks like some kind of medical brace or something? Too clean and quality metal for just scrap. JIM

I think the holes are too small for it to be a strap for nailing, and the metal is the wrong type, I think its either hard copper or brass. Just one of those many whats its we find! The shape tells me it was part of something else once...

I know what it is. Its a part of a telephone wire hanger. One side is "raised" where the holes are; this gives the gripping hold as it wedges into the hanger.

I work for the cable company and have seen those hundreds of times. I'll try to post a picture.
