STAMP ID: Silver, Gold, White Gold, Yellow Gold?

I have been having some trouble trying to figure out what exactly the stamp ID (525) is associated with inside a ring I found. I have read multiple meanings although would like to hear from you guys. Thanks for all the answers ahead of time! I have attached a pic.

It is silver kinda mid grade. Probably European.

Probably a mis-stamp on .925 silver. What machine are you using and what did it read?

It was screaming silver. Using the Whites DFX Spectrum E Series.

I'm with cudamark. It's badly stamped. I'd say it's 925 all day long if acid tested.

It looks to me that the 9 and 2 are upside down.

agree with bad stamp of 925 also it looks like a spinner ring, the fish should move around the ring, its made of 2 pieces

525 is also an Italian mark for white gold. It would be 14K.

No that'd be 585 for 14k. Yellow or white, color doesn't factor in on a gold karat purity mark. You can clearly see the 9 and 2 are upside down. By placing the stamp upside down it produces a backward number at the same time. Once again, it's a badly stamped hallmark for sterling silver- 925.

It’s mis-stamped 925. Do you have a silver test kit handy? That will solve the mystery.
