I found this in a sandy volleyball court, yesterday.
There are no moving parts to it, and the attachment ring is probably not of jewelry quality.
Major picnic area, adjoining the court.

Any ideas?

Thank you, rmptr

Whatever it was it would make a good keyring now probably. It sure is interesting looking....seems like parts should move and yet they don't...hmmmm :icon_scratch:

I actually think you said what it is/was - my Grandfather had a keyring that was able to be separated in the middle. If this is what it is, theres a piece that has a little pushbutton thing on the end and it clasps the latch part at the bottom (left of picture) of the piece shown. I think my dad still has it, but I won't be able to get access to take a pic and show you, but I'll look around on the net for a pic.

It looks similar to (half of) my old key ring in the pics. This was a promotional item from an hydraulic fit-out and repair company.
Very handy - I should start using it again ::)

I'm not familiar with the sort of quick-connect type of fitting, assuming it is one, that is on the piece.

Whatever it is, it's an interesting find
Cheers, Mike

I agree with lonesome Bob but I also think the thing will come apart if you push in on the buuton end w/the ring.

I think Lonesome Bob has it.

It's not a valve from a brass musical instrument, those are full of holes at varied angles. (I play trumpet)

Does resemble a spool valve for hydraulics though.
