Stack of 1 dollar bills?

I was wondering how much a "stack" of 1 dollar bills is. Are the serial numbers in sequential order, or at random? Do banks usually carry them? Can I really find anything special?

a "stack" or strap has 100 notes in it some times they will be in consecutive if you ask for new bills but if you ask for a strap most of the time they will be used bills and yes banks do carry them. you can find special things in them but that is just if you get lucky. hope this helps.

I order $2 bills from the bank on occasion, for the $2's The Fed requires you buy at least $2000 at a time.

for $1 most banks will carry smaller amounts on hand, but can order as many as you want. I find more keepers in $2 because they get less circulation.

I asked one bank and they gave me a stack of 1000 $2's and had half a dozen old red seals and star notes in the bunch.
