Stable metal detector

Oh well I don't know of a metal detector that won't detect small targets. This hobby isn't for everyone.

Discrimination is what chooses what you detect. Some iffy signals can be the difference between a gold ring or tin foil. Trash is part of it but you can quickly learn what targets you want to dig. When you say stable detector most would think emf or noisy interference due to high tension electric lines. Some detectors let you frequency change to overcome that. Analyze the type of hunt you want to do and then you can better decide on what detector you want. But small targets just means how sensitive the detector is. I would suggest a AT Pro if your not sure as it is sensitive and deep enough and really a fun little detector.

If you have no experience, you are setting yourself up to fail with that mindset.

Reason being, small targets don't produce much of a signal anyhow - And neither do deep coins.
So if you don't want to find small targets or deep coins, with any detector you can turn down your sensitivity and swing pretty fast, you'll miss everything but larger targets and coins/rings/bottlecaps on the surface.
