Hello all, I came across this today while going through my grandfathers furniture that we had put in storage after he passed. At the time, I had no clue what it was, but I found it interesting nonetheless.

Long story short, I got on my computer and four hours later I've come to the conclusion that it is a St Patrick Farthing coin. From what I can tell, these are quite rare but only if they're real. I'm hoping this one is. Any thoughts or comments?

Thanks.

Hi- I am Irish and that certainly looks like Saint Patrick

Interesting. They're similar, mine is without the seam. However, I'm not convinced its genuine either. Thanks

Once you have seen enough of these types of copies they become easy to spot, the real ones don't have the same 'cast' look as a proper hammered or milled ones.

Yes, unfortunately it is a cast copy, as Crusader says you can spot the cast look. Everything is kind of grainy and mushy looking.
