SS Emerald Sea

I found this in the park. What is it?

Obviously, it's from the cruise ship SS Emerald Seas, which is no longer in service. I think the ship was decommissioned sometime in the 1990s. But is this just a souvenir ... a token to use on board for something ... funny money for the casino?

I'm not sure what the metal content is, but it is heavy (0.7 ounce on a postage scale). The front has a picture of the ship. The back has pictures of onboard activities (shuffleboard, dancing, etc.).

Any ideas?
