I had about 4 hours free so i decided to do a little more at my new "honey hole" ..this site has been giving some good finds, and pretty steadily. same site as the Harrison political button, 2cent and LC`s .. today was a short hunt before the rain headed in, but half way back to the car the rain stopped :tongue3: all the items today were found in a 10X10 spot loaded with iron, after i found the spur and the cheap ring i just went real slow digging every steady signal i could lock onto. I wanted to take pictures of the site, but i forgot to put my SD card back in the camera.

Its my first also, It came out pretty nice, no bends and a nice smooth green patina. only 2 prongs left on the star tho. ... would this be for a woman or child? it seems too small for a man.

Love that spur and the wing. Wonder what it came off, hood ornament maybe?

cool finds! That spur is really neat

Nice civilian spur. That one is old, early 1800s from the spur books I have read.

I didnt know it dated that far back, i was thinking 1880s and up, I tried to research it but no specific dates were listed, thanks Buck,
