Found this metal detecting. I can't find anything like it online.
It looks like it was riveted to leather, The shape of the back where the rivets are fits up against the back of a boot.
I'm wondering if it wasn't just attached straight to the boot?
Looking for any info on it. Age? Style?
The other stuff I found around there was turn of the century ish..

Please help if you can.
Thanks! https: jyh.jpgkkhj.jpgGetAttachmentThumbnail.jpg

I believe what you have is referred to as a "strapless", "branchless" or "rivet" spur which would be attached to a boot's leather heel or heel counter. The counter version would typically have a plate or pin affixed to the counter so the spur could be easily removed/reinstalled. The rivet version was typically attached directly to the heel. These designs use less metal than other spurs and, thusly, could be made more cheaply. They became popular in the late 1700's and are more common in Europe than in the States.
