Found this yesterday while taking a walk through the woods with the wife, looks like an early spur from what I can tell. Anyone have any insights or a page regarding this style of spur and what era it comes from? Thanks!

It appears to be a military style spur, but I have looked at 100s and 100s of different kinds of spurs, very old ones, new ones, military, cowboy, English, Spanish, French, Mexican, etc. and can't find another example of spurs that have the hinged heel band like this one.

It is a little different. I bet if a person knew about researching patents, you could get a date on it. That hinge is quite unique. Other than that, my swag is civilian, English style of riding.

I've done a little more researching and based on what I've found on the UKDFD, the crude nature of the manufacture and the other finds I've made nearby it appears that it's likely from the 17th/18th century.
