Once the snow starts to slack up, you think it would be smooth sailing up here. However, that's when the construction crews move in. Orange Cone Season. Good pic of westbound I-70 in its usual state, a parking lot. And as a silly aside related to nothing, when I went to the post office to renew my p.o. box yesterday, they accepted my old college ID as a 'valid form of photo ID'.

Ha! what a mess you got going up your way. Dang! long hair your were in the 70's, as many of us were. Boy! those were the days.... I think I was thrown in the Lake County Jail the night before this picture was taken a little over 39 years ago now.

Indeed we did at least try to all work together back then, but somehow that just seems to be an impossible thing to ever get done. To many special interest kind of things going on I guess ???.

''The good ole days.'' :icon_scratch: With May just around the corner the construction season should begin quite soon.

Damned hippie!

When the snows all gone check out the areas I've pointed to for mountain goats on the side of that mountain. I've see them up on the rock slides from time to time when I drive by that mountain.

Love the pics(mountains) and especially the College ID. You know, you can probably vote in Texas...

My Grandpa built two cabins up on Ptarmagrin. He had to haul everything over Loveland Pass. We used to love the drive as kids always looking for old mines. It was a bonus to see the sheep. Glad they are still around. I think I would prefer the old drive rather than deal with the traffic. Love the old pictures, good times back then. Lots of memories up that pass. There is a hardly used old boy scout camp South of Idaho Springs we used to sled at. And St Marys Glacier. These are two spots on my detecting to do list. you better hit those old sidewalks in Frisco when they dig them up:) The cabins are now overshadowed by monstrosities. Factory outlet malls below.
