After a record breaking bad Winter, I was so pumped for Spring! Well it was late getting here, but I did get out a few times and scored a couple IH's, and a silver cross neckless. THEN I told a friend I would watch his dog, and take care of his chickens, and mail, while he is on vacation for 12 days. Chickens are easy, so I brought the dog home.....................nice dog, fenced yard, I have two nice dogs......................one of them hates him!!!! They cant be left alone, My other dog blew his knee out, and is going for $2000.oo knee surgery, today, there goes my Deus, or ctx3030!! When he comes home, no stairs, must be carried out to the yard, no running, for 6 weeks................yea right its a Brittany!! I think I am grounded for about 6-8 weeks. Glad I retired, but this was not in the plan!!! Oh well it could be worse! HH

Feel better now...... Sorry about the dog problems. I got 7 and it seems "someone" always has a problem $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I had a Brit named Rusty, best damn bird dog I ever had. When I had to put him down at 13 I never wanted another dog after that. Man I miss that dog! Thanks for the memories.

He was a great dog! Runt of the litter and the best choice I ever made in choosing a dog. Hated seeing him go. 15 years ago now and never thought about getting another dog after him. Now that I have kids I really should think about getting another one. I was thinking a lab but maybe I'll get another Brit. Best $200 I ever spent. Gl HH mike

Love Brits, had them since the 70's, but the kids are gone, I don't hunt anymore, we decided these are our last dogs. Retired, now there like still having kids, to tied down!!!

Don't hunt anymore? What's up with that. You better have a good reason young man!

Not many birds, loss of habitat, and hunting spots!! Pretty much hunted out after 40 years of it

That's a tough one, for some reason I knew it wasn't cause of you. It's amazing though how that dog worked, pointed, flushed, then retrieved those birds. Magical

I rescued / took in a Black Lab and she's the best damn dog I've ever had. ALWAYS happy, even tempered and I can't go anywhere without that dog following me. She even followed me d e e p into a cave out back and she loves the Grandkids!!!!!

Took in a britt years ago for a guy in a pinch, female related,(hit the road type) who after several months was able to take custody again. I made the mistake of not introducing it to the other dogs in a neutral area outside the home. Two fourtyfive pound males that would fight if I stood up when they were on each side of me.
Some pheasants in southern Mi. but not like in the past when seeing a dozen roosters when riding the school bus. Me on the bus ,not the roosters.) Cack, cack, cack!

Boy guy can I remember all the roosters when I hunted Southwest MI. for 30 years. I used to watch all the pheasants walk by my deer stand near a corn/bean field for years while bow hunting. Shot several. You could hear and see them all morning flying up and moving.... they were LOUD!!!!!
