Hey guys so I recently found this pewter spoon handle at an Immigrant Trail campsite and it seems to have some carvings on it. I can't figure out what it is saying so I took pictures of the spoon in both directions as I'm not sure which way it actually goes. I'm unfamiliar with what was common to be carved in a spoon so hopefully with your guys' fresh eyes one of you could read it. There also appears to be an apostrophe(or comma) depending on which way you look at it. Any help on this or articles talking about spoon carvings would be nice.

Not sure what it says or means, but I cleaned up the picture a little, might help someone else figure it out for you. IMG_20150208_175953_021.jpg

It's a tough one. What is this immigrant trail, you mention?

The immigrant trail that went across the West in the 1850's. It was found along with an 1837 Dime and 13 flat buttons. Never did get a chance to upload those pictures though.
