Last Thursday morning, my dad desperately needed to find an unusual relic to carry to our Carolina Coin & Relic meeting. This was his first target dug, and the last. Dad called me and reported his lucky find, along with lots of bragging, of course. We placed this item on the "What Is It" board at our meeting, which brought guesses such as a farm machinery part or seed planter part. It is manufactured in brass and identified with DE49 stamped on one leg, and has threaded holes at the ends of each leg. Can someone please identify this item? The first picture is of the front, and the second picture is the back. The third picture is of the front again. Thanks!

It reminds me of a wheel from an antique coffee grinder. Interesting find, Breezie

The 3rd pic shows the slot where it engages, and held on with a screw or bolt.. Thats all I can add. It could be some kind of pulley or wheel, maybe wood..

What about from an antique weaving machine?

We may need more clues like where was it found? (farm, house, schoolyard, battlefield etc.)

Thanks to all for the great ideas! I'll check out that link, and see if I can't get more information as to exactly where it was found. Any other ideas are still welcomed! Thanks for everyone's help so far! :notworthy:
